The South Coast

The south coast of England offers over a hundred miles of coastline to explore with peaceful creeks and rivers giving access to bustling country villages.

Hamble Le Rice is a charming and picturesque village with many traditional pubs and restaurants. It also has a fascinating history of yacht building and refitting and is considered to be the centre of the UK's yachting scene.

Hamble Le Rice provides the perfect base from which to explore many interesting ports and towns such as Bucklers Hard, Beaulieu and Yarmouth. The busy harbours of Chichester and Langstone are also within an easy distance. There are miles of sandy beaches around Poole, Swanage and the West Country, not forgetting the great historical sights of the Solent such as the off-shore forts and Hurst Castle. A trip to the Isle of Wight provides a very pleasurable way to spend a few relaxing hours. Throw an anchor in the sheltered waters of Alum Bay and enjoy a barbeque or a leisurely lunch on board.

Northern France & The Channel Islands

If you would like to travel further afield then the northern coast of France is within easy reach. Weather permitting; a 3-4hr crossing will see you sampling French wines in one of the lovely multicoloured cafe's that make up the harbour front of Cherbourg. Enjoy a night in a local hotel taking in the French atmosphere and exquisite cuisine before heading back to Hamble the next morning.

Similarly the myriad of islands that make up the Channel Islands are but a day's cruise away. Take a wander around the quaint streets and houses that are part of St Peters Port in Guernsey. Take a three day break and give yourself time to explore some of the lesser known islands in the group such as Herm and Alderney.
